About The Position

The Missile Solutions Segment of L3Harris is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Manager to lead Teams within Manufacturing Engineering. You will be responsible for leading the teams that will own the design, development, and implementation of manufacturing processes and tooling design, fabrication oversight, maintenance, and process application & capabilities. This role involves communicating within and outside of the organization to influence leadership to accept new practices, approaches, and concepts. The Senior Manager will also develop or champion new concepts or technologies, manage the implementation of functional strategies, and recommend operational plans that directly impact short- to mid-term function or business area results. The position requires broad management and cross-functional leadership knowledge, along with mastery level knowledge within a specific technical area or broad expertise across multiple related job areas.

Requirements

• Deep technical understanding and experience with manufacturing engineering.
• Significant experience leading teams of engineers within these disciplines.
• Experience in leading people leaders, preferably within subject disciplines.
• Strong cross-functional and collaborative skills allowing to effectively work in Team dynamic amongst leadership peers.
• Experience in or high level of understanding in manufacturing process control.
• Experience in or high level of understanding manufacturing operating systems.
• Ability to obtain US Security Clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related manufacturing or engineering experience; or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related manufacturing or engineering experience; or in lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related manufacturing or engineering experience.
• 5+ years direct people leadership experience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in, or high level of understanding in: High-rate manufacturing.
• Experience in, or high level of understanding in: Composite manufacturing.
• Experience in, or high level of understanding in: Aerospace and defense manufacturing.
• Experience in, or high level of understanding in: Lean manufacturing.
• Experience in MRP or MES systems (preferably Oracle or Delmia).

Responsibilities

• Lead Teams within Manufacturing Engineering.
• Lead teams responsible for the design, development, and implementation of manufacturing processes and tooling design, fabrication oversight, maintenance, and process application & capabilities.
• Communicate within and outside of the organization to influence leadership to accept new practices, approaches, and concepts.
• Develop or champion new concepts or technologies.
• Manage the implementation of functional strategies and recommend operational plans that directly impact the short- to mid-term function or business area results.
• Mentor and groom young career managers.
