About the position

Eaton's Aerospace group is seeking a Human Resources Senior Manager to join the Fuel & Electrical Distribution (FED) HR team and will support the Conveyance business unit. This position will be based in Jackson, MI. Relocation assistance to Jackson is available. This could be a good opportunity for a plant/site HR Manager to step into a multi-site leadership role and gain international experience. The Sr. HR Manager, Conveyance will act as a business partner to the FED Conveyance business unit, which includes a cross-functional support team and 5 manufacturing facilities globally (approximately 1100 employees). The position directly supports the GM and Director, Operations for Conveyance. Primary functions include human resource planning, recruitment and selection, talent management, labor relations, training, career planning, wage and salary administration, performance management and change management. The HR Manager also partners with the division HR team to deploy large-scale HR initiatives, programs, processes, and transferable practices across FED, and leads other members of the HR Function in these deployments.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a business partner, strategic solution provider, advisor and counselor for the Conveyance business unit
  • Directly manage the Division HRDP and act as HR functional manager for the 5 Conveyance manufacturing sites which includes the recruitment, evaluation, and development of HR professionals & managers to meet the strategic needs of the business
  • Identify, develop and deploy business-driven HR strategies designed to attract, manage, develop, motivate and retain key people while creating a high-performance, sustainable organization capable of achieving the business objectives and action plans
  • Engage with union and non-union sites to maintain positive employee relations and strong relationships
  • Oversee terminations and criminal reviews, and cooperate with the Ethics Office on critical issues and investigations for the designated client group
  • Develop, recommend and implement HR policies and procedures, assuring that HR policies and practices comply with the applicable provisions of federal and state labor laws including the maintenance of necessary files
  • Leverage talent acquisition best practices to facilitate a broad pool of qualified candidates to fill roles in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Lead and manage the performance management system to drive high performance and provide coaching to business leaders on effective performance management intervention
  • Participate in HR Operating Reviews and support sites to continuously improve on Operational Assessments (OpA)
  • Work with HR Managers to develop education/training programs to meet the needs of their workforce
  • Act as the HR Lead for any manufacturing footprint projects, aiding in determining strategy and driving to completion
  • Promote the company's mission and vision by actively supporting Eaton's ethics and values as well as quality policies
  • Partner with the FED Division HR Team to contribute to and execute our talent strategy including providing feedback and developing a viable sustainable succession pipeline using tools like Talent Hub
  • Lead the division's Employee Listening communication plan and action planning
  • Drive compensation planning activities and contribute to compensation and recognition programs to enforce competitive pay practices and reward for superior performance

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 7 years progressive Human Resources experience
  • Direct HR experience in a manufacturing site
  • Minimum 1 year of experience leading people
  • Ability to work in the United States without company sponsorship
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.
