As Senior Manager, Operations Engineering for the Worldwide Grocery Store Tech (WWGST) Automation team, you'll lead the charge in automating a major portion of grocery operations, delivering step-change improvements in both operating costs and delivery speeds. This is a rare multi-functional leadership opportunity where you'll independently lead an organization spanning the full spectrum of automation—from hardware engineering and system engineering to operations engineers and support engineers.   • Lead and inspire a multifunctional team to think big while executing with excellence across the full automation lifecycle.
  • Create buy-in for technical strategy and execution plans across technical, operational, and third-party organizations, building alignment on vision and approach for automating grocery operations at scale.
  • Establish metrics and key performance indicators to measure success across automation deployment, operational performance, and maintenance effectiveness, driving data-informed decision making.
  • Shape technical strategies and designs for hardware automation solutions that will transform operations across fulfillment centers, physical stores, distribution centers, and food manufacturing facilities.
  • Lead the development of launch plans and deployment roadmaps, ensuring successful rollout of automation technologies across our worldwide grocery businesses.
  • Partner closely with software engineering teams, business and operational stakeholders, and third-party automation providers to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of automation solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the performance and maintenance of deployed automation systems, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer experience.
  • Own end-to-end accountability for automation outcomes, from initial concept and design through deployment, launch, and ongoing optimization.
  • The role may require up to 50% travel.

  • Bachelor's degree in Hardware Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 10+ years of Hardware Deployment or Operational experience.
  • 5+ years of experience managing a multifunctional organization.
  • Experience working directly with third parties, hardware engineers, and business operations, and maintenance teams.
