The Sr Manager Finance (Marketing) is responsible for driving the results of the Marketing group (consisting of Global Marketing, Global Product Management, Strat)both in terms of cost and business planning for the future to enable the right new products are introduced in the market, the existing products are sustained. In addition, this role will extensively support the Strat function in developing the Strategic plan for the organization. The Sr Manager Finance is responsible to drive the AOP and the forecasts for the Opex management for the entire function and be a guide on matters of compliance and monthly reporting. This position reports to the VP Strategic Finance and is part of the Strategic Finance team located in Sunnyvale and will be an on-site role. At Cepheid, the marketing function consists of Global Marketing, Product Marketing and Strategy. The value of this strategic function involves integration of the above three functions to enable clearer decision making and accountability within each function and lead Cepheid to thinking ahead on investing for future opportunities. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or similar field with 9+ years experience OR Master's degree in field with 7+ years experience OR Doctoral Degree in field with 4+ years experience
  • Expertise in finance and accounting with increasing levels of responsibility and emphasis on budgeting, forecasting, planning, financial analysis and modeling.
  • Proven results on continuous improvements & change management.
  • Ability to work in a team and an analytical working style.
  • Proficient in computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, OneStream)

Nice To Haves

  • CMA or CPA a plus
  • Diagnostic / Medical Device industry preferable

Responsibilities

  • Support the Global Marketing, Global Product Management and Strat teams on annual budgeting, periodic forecasting and actual reporting of the Operating expenses and drive productivity.
  • Partner with the Product Management team to help analyze data enabling introduction of new products in the market; follow up with the data on actual performance vs plan.
  • Partner with the businesses to drive the 5 Year & 10 year Strat Plan process.
  • Coach the business & key finance stakeholders and improve finance processes.
  • Ensure policy compliance (internal policies, external reporting)
