About The Position

Senior Manager, Tax Planning - Chicago, IL Function Identify, develop, model, and implement tax planning opportunities and support corporate mergers and acquisitions and transactions.

Requirements

  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. federal corporate income tax law; strong technical knowledge of Inflation Reduction Act tax credits a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, including ability to research and resolve complex tax issues
  • Strong modeling skills to quantify material aspects of complex transactions
  • Proven ability to manage and implement complex projects across multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to concisely present technical positions, risks, etc to management
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • CPA or Juris Doctor
  • 8+ years of tax experience with public companies, national accounting firms, or national law firms
  • Experience in modeling and structuring complex transactions
  • General knowledge of income tax accounting rules

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and implement US federal tax planning initiatives that align with the company’s business, financial and risk objectives
  • Become a critical resource and develop technical expertise on federal tax credit programs
  • Research and evaluate tax implications of M&A transactions and internal restructurings and coordinate with legal counsel
  • Collaborate with the tax reporting, provision and controversy teams on transactions and planning initiatives.
