About The Position

The Senior Manager, Facilities oversees all aspects of the Macy’s Stores Operations Center (MSOC) including the call center staff, environment and the work order system. The Sr. Manager, Facilities will act as a back-up to the Call Center Sr. Director/Director, and must be available at all times to respond to emergencies and business interruptions. This person provides leadership focused on managing improvement and efficiency of day-to-day tasks of Operators and Supervisors in Macy's Store Operations Center. This position manages hiring and training, schedules teams, and develops team members for larger assignments. Responsibilities also include coaching performances to standards, redirecting when/where appropriate, and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Leadership: Strong leadership, teamwork, organizational, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels, and excellent negotiation skills.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to write and work with spreadsheets and databases (Excel and Access) is desired.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to read and interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals.
  • Communication: Organized, with superior follow up as well as interpersonal skills in order to present information in manners which are usable based on a variety of audiences.
  • Financial Acumen: Ability to make recommendations for financial expenditures, manage expenses, and develop long-term financial plans.
  • Relationship Building: Proficiency in developing and maintaining relationships with internal teams and external partners.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address emergencies and disruptions promptly and effectively.
  • Reliability: Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
  • High school diploma or Bachelor’s degree is required and/or 5-7 years experience in related job is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write and interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals.
  • Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, and consensus building skills.
  • Presentation, written, and verbal communication skills sufficient to effectively communicate issues and solutions to all levels of business.
  • Strong sense of urgency and excellent follow up skills with ability to prioritize and achieve target dates.
  • Proficient in basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • This position requires regular walking, standing, hearing, and talking. May occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Possess manual dexterity for using keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
  • Capable of moving or lifting items under 10 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day to day operations of MSOC, to include task execution and oversight of work orders, environmental, and facility management vendor coordination.
  • Develop Supervisors to improve team performance on all shifts.
  • Support leadership direction and embrace change.
  • Manage financial commitments.
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures.
  • Generate ideas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with business partners and third-party providers.
  • Ensure communication within and from MSOC Alarm Operations is fluid and complete.
  • Provide feedback on team challenges/issues.
  • Develop a culture of ownership and accountability within MSOC Alarm Operations.
  • Execute additional responsibilities as directed.
  • Off hour on-call support and occasional travel required.
