About The Position

Requirements

  • 5+ years of engineering leadership experience managing platform or foundational engineering teams.
  • Proven track record delivering complex technical initiatives across mobile, backend, or multi-platform environments.
  • Experience with software engineering best practices and architectural patterns for high-traffic, scalable systems.
  • Demonstrated success in coaching, mentoring, and developing engineers, fostering high-performing teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience building systems designed for reliability, scalability, and experimentation.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Hands-on understanding of mobile development, backend services, and AI/automation tools is preferred.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, outcome-driven environment, balancing technical excellence with business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a cross-functional team of engineers, setting quarterly objectives and ensuring alignment with product and organizational strategy.
  • Build strong relationships with product and engineering leaders to identify collaboration opportunities and platform improvements.
  • Balance platform delivery with foundational system improvements, ensuring scalability, reliability, and long-term sustainability.
  • Oversee backlog management, prioritizing technical debt, maintenance, and new initiatives to maintain predictable delivery.
  • Champion engineering quality standards, including testing practices, observability, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor, coach, and support engineers in career growth, performance management, and team engagement.
  • Contribute to architectural decision-making, guiding technical direction across mobile and backend systems.
  • Drive delivery of AI-driven tooling to enhance engineering productivity and modernization efforts.
