About The Position
Accounting and Close has launched a critical search for a Senior Manager overseeing the Corporate general ledger and close the books. The incoming leader will be a key member of the Corporate Controllers Office and be responsible for the execution of corporate and other functional accounting and closing processes in support of Lockheed Martin's financial reporting requirements. In addition, this role will be key to researching and providing technical accounting guidance related to equity compensation, deferred compensation, and earnings per share (EPS) calculations for the Corporation. The primary responsibilities of the role will be to prepare high quality corporate financial reports and closing the corporate ledger on an accelerated timeline. Other specific responsibilities include: preparing forward pricing data that the Corporation uses to price its customer contracts, providing support for the Corporation's filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), new accounting pronouncements related to compensation arrangements monitoring and development of impacts, and delivering ad-hoc presentations and training to internal stakeholders. Although many of the responsibilities are technical in nature, the Sr Mgr must be effective communicating and educating technical issues to non-technical audiences, including those at leadership levels. To be successful in this role, the senior manager needs to be a self-starter who adapts well to a dynamic and changing environment while embracing continuous learning and personal development. Interpersonal and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to effectively build cross functional relationships and demonstrate an appreciation and understanding the business will be paramount to his or her success.
