McDonald's Global IT is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Computing Senior Manager to lead our cloud infrastructure and DevOps initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in cloud technologies, automation, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices. This role will be pivotal in driving the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of our cloud-based systems. This opportunity is part of the Global Technology Infrastructure & Operations team (GTIO), where our mission is to deliver modern and relevant technology that supports the way McDonald's works. We provide outstanding foundational technology products and services including Global Networking, Cloud, End User Computing, and IT Service Management. It's our goal to always provide an engaging, relevant, and simple experience for our customers. The role reports to the Director of Cloud DevOps and is responsible for supporting, migrating, automation and optimization of software development and deployment process specifically for Google Cloud. The Cloud Computing Senior Manager will work closely with software developers, cloud architects, operations engineers, and other partners to ensure that the software delivery process is efficient, secure, and scalable. You will support the Corporate, Cloud Security, Cloud Platform, Digital, Data, Restaurant, and Market application and product teams by efficiently and optimally delivering DevOps standards and services. This is a great opportunity for an experienced technology leader to help craft the transformation of infrastructure and operations products and services to the entire McDonalds environment.

  • Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the team, ensuring tasks are assigned appropriately and deadlines are met.
  • Develop and implement cloud strategies that align with business goals, ensuring optimal performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for all cloud technical hands-on questions pertaining infrastructure, security and application services.
  • Design and implement automation frameworks for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment.
  • Supervise the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless integration and delivery of software updates.
  • Implement monitoring tools and practices to proactively determine and resolve performance issues, optimizing cloud resources.
  • Ensure strong security measures are in place, including following industry standards.
  • Work closely with multi-functional teams, including software development, operations, and security, to ensure cohesive and efficient workflows.
  • Maintain relationships with cloud service providers and other third-party vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to senior leadership on cloud operations, performance metrics, and critical initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in cloud computing and DevOps, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins).
  • 5+ years GitHub, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Helm Charts, Harness and Artifactory or similar DevOps CI/CD tools.
  • Demonstrable ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer, or Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer.
  • Code Quality SAST and DAST tools like SonarQube/Sonar Cloud, Veracode, Checkmarx, and Snyk.
  • Experience developing scripts or automating tasks using languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, Ruby, etc.
