About The Position

Join the PCB Category Leadership Team as a Senior Manager, Category Development , where you'll lead strategic category initiatives across the Ready-to-Eat (RTE) and Hot Cereal categories. This role is responsible for driving national assortment and shelving strategies, leading the implementation of the Perfect Shelf initiative, and serving as the key liaison between Marketing and Sales. You'll own high-impact projects, influence cross-functional teams, and shape how PCB shows up at shelf across channels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required (Business preferred )
  • 7 + years of experience in Category Management, Sales Strategy, or Shopper Insights within the CPG industry.
  • Deep experience with syndicated data tools (Nielsen/IRI), retailer portals, and space management tools (JDA, RichMix ).
  • Strong analytical and storytelling skills; ability to synthesize data into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and work independently.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% within the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced degree a plus.
  • Familiarity with consumer panel data (e.g., Homescan , Spectra, dunnhumby, Spire) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and execution of national category strategies with a focus on assortment optimization and shelving excellence.
  • Own the Perfect Shelf initiative, embedding core principles of SKU rationalization and shelf optimization into PCB's commercial discipline.
  • Define and communicate PCB's point of view on shelving and assortment, ensuring alignment across internal teams and external customers.
  • Develop best-in-class guidance on category and aisle flows, adjacencies, cross-merchandising, and space allocation by channel.
  • Partner with Channel Strategy and Sales to adapt national strategies for growth channels and key customers.
  • Solicit feedback from the Customer Development Organization (CDO) to ensure strategies meet retailer needs.
  • Leverage syndicated and retailer data (Nielsen/IRI, 84.51, Numerator, RichMix , JDA) to uncover trends and drive strategic recommendations.
  • Deliver compelling, insight-driven presentations to senior leadership and customer teams.
  • Use score carding and market assessments to identify growth opportunities and measure impact.
  • Lead development of selling stories, customer playbooks, and business reviews that drive retailer engagement.
  • Collaborate with Brand Marketing, Sales Strategy & Trade, Supply Chain, and Sales to ensure seamless execution of category plans.
  • Represent Category Development in strategic planning sessions and retailer meetings.
  • Mentor junior team members and elevate category capabilities across the organization.
  • Build strong networks and influence stakeholders at all levels to drive alignment and action.
