About The Position

As the Strategic Initiatives and Analytics Sr. Manager for Business Banking Credit Risk at BMO US, you will play a pivotal role in guiding and measuring strategic initiatives within the Business Banking portfolio. As a member of the Second Line credit risk management team, you will provide expertise, consultation and effective challenge to decisions that impact lending outcomes, risk appetite, regulatory oversight and analytical controls for originations and the portfolio. You'll source and analyze data from various internal and external sources to quantify the impact of policy changes on portfolio quality, delinquency rates, and credit losses. Using data tools like Power BI and Excel, you'll dig deep into portfolio performance, extracting insights that will inform our product roadmap and policy actions. Your financial modeling expertise will be put to good use as you optimize the risk and return impact of changes to how we execute in the business.

Requirements

  • Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of risk management, audit, compliance, governance and/or project management.
  • Expertise in business and regulatory environment and understanding of risk issues/trends.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with effective planning and organizing skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Business Banking lending and/or underwriting.
  • Experience with NPV, discounted cash flows, and P&L analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise, consultation and effective challenge to decisions impacting lending outcomes and risk appetite.
  • Source and analyze data to quantify the impact of policy changes on portfolio quality and credit losses.
  • Utilize data tools like Power BI and Excel to analyze portfolio performance.
  • Develop and analyze portfolio results and metrics.
  • Design and produce regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards.
  • Lead the execution of initiatives/programs and assess quality of execution.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies.
  • Build effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Monitor and track performance and address any issues.
  • Support the development of tools and training focused on key data elements used in risk reporting.
