Requirements

  • 7+ years of work experience in battery/automotive/aerospace/related industries, with significant experience in system design and failure analysis.
  • A bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Knowledge of battery components, system integration, and high voltage safety.
  • Knowledge of battery sensing technology and battery management architectural design.
  • Aility to work in a fast-paced environment and a proven track record in rapid root cause identification and corrective action implementation.
  • Experience creating requirements from the ground up, using analytical and statistical methods
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; reliant on core engineering principles and common sense
  • Experience with vehicle communication bus diagnostic tools.
  • Strong communication skills verbally, written, and through presentation to communicate complex technical issues to diverse audiences
  • Experience with issue tracking tools (jira, bugzilla, etc.).
  • A strong cross-functional work ethic demonstrating ability to zoom out, identify process gaps, and bring together team members to align around process improvements.
  • A strong ability and desire to mentor and coach team members, with focus on increasing their capability, contribution, and job satisfaction

Responsibilities

  • Team leadership: Staff, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of engineers specializing in battery systems design, control system diagnostics, and electro/mechanical component integration.
  • Sustaining design & production: Guide crossfunctional teams through investigations of plant and supplier quality issues. Manage the continuous improvement of production and remanufacturing through the implementation of issue-driven corrective and preventive actions.
  • Field performance & reliability: Lead the in-depth analysis of field and ongoing reliability test results. Guide root cause investigations, develop effective mitigation options, and oversee their implementation.
  • Diagnostics, prognostics & the customer experience: Develop and monitor prognostic and diagnostic strategies to proactively identify potential issues and significantly improve the overall customer experience.
  • Cross-functional process improvement: Champion the development and maturation of cross-functional processes (including pd, me, ops, service, reliability, and reman) to close gaps and drive efficiencies in product performance and next-generation development.
  • Strategic integration: Ensure that all lessons learned from production and field are integrated into future product and process architecture. Identify and promote opportunities to improve the design & development process through the strategic integration of ai and machine learning tools
