We are looking for a Sr. Global Applied Technologies Manager to drive innovation in application methodologies expanding process expertise and driving growth for MacDermid Alpha's Circuit Board Assembly Business Unit. In this role you will be leading a customer-focused engineering team responsible for addressing organizational knowledge gaps, managing an application development project portfolio, and delivering insights to internal and external stakeholders. This role is pivotal in leading global customer qualifications, product development specification identification, and drawing definitive conclusions for internal application characterization efforts.

  • Lead Applied Technology team to investigate, develop, and implement innovative process methodologies that drive market share gain and advance organizational expertise in emerging industry segments.
  • Develop organizational application capabilities through training, creation of application guidelines, and transfer of process knowledge to internal and external stakeholders to support breakthrough strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborative cross-functional business partner role responsible for validating the assumptions, applications processing techniques, and data interpretation produced by the Applications Project Development team to ensure relevancy to external customer in-use processes.
  • Active management of evergreen application development project roadmap that addresses technology gaps and drives organizational capability development.
  • Validate NPD project performance through customer beta evaluations or internal assessments.
  • Collaborate with global technical service engineering teams to resolve customer application challenges and deliver innovative solutions in real time.
  • Oversee the execution of global OEM and strategic account program qualifications, coordinating cross-functional support from R D and technical service teams.
  • Lead new technology and applications programs or projects ensuring accurate and timely delivery and communicating progress within the MAES organization.
  • Develop and deploy product specific Applications Guideline for new product introduction (NPI).
  • Serve as a surface-mount technology (SMT) application expert in engagements with OEMs and strategic accounts.
  • Support OEM and Strategic account engagements as surface mount technology application expert.
  • Align with product management and functional leaders to prioritize activities and execution of technology roadmap.
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering or applied science.
  • 15 + years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Hands-on expertise with electronics assembly processes in customer facing role.
  • Ability to manage a global engineering team activities focused on advancement of organizational capability development.
  • Strong track record of demonstrating multi-initiative project management, team leadership and communication skills.
  • Expertise in process engineering problem solving associated with printed circuit board based electronic assembly, including SMT printing, automated component placement, and assembly reflow.
  • Expertise in supporting direct customer technical engagements inclusive of production line support.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to interpret customer needs and support advancement of project portfolio.
  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently in a high paced global environment.

  • Must have the ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 30% of time.
