About The Position

The Sr. Manager, Accounting (Revenue) is responsible for ensuring the order to cash process (OTC) complies with the Company’s established policies and with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).  This position will provide technical accounting and operational guidance on current and future business transactions involving the OTC process. This position will be responsible for overseeing the OTC process for efficiency and effectiveness, including management of accounts receivable staff.  This position will adhere to tight deadlines for the activities described above while working independently or as a team and provide ad hoc support on as a needed basis.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of revenue accounting and experience managing a team
  • Excellent communication skills; fluent (oral/written) English
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, particularly with a commercial organization
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook and other standard applications.
  • Knowledge of ERP system OTC processes (preferably experience with SAGEX3)
  • A self-directed leader able to adapt quickly to changes in priorities.
  • Positive attitude and hands-on approach
  • Bachelors required, Masters or MBA preferred
  • Accounting
  • 5-7 years’ experience of managerial experience in revenue accounting
  • 5-7 years’ experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning Systems with a focus on OTC

Nice To Haves

  • Life science industry experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Standards (US GAAP) with an ability to apply to business processes and document position taken. Liaise with financial auditors on technical positions. Provide technical assistance to Finance/Accounting and Commercial team as needed.
  • Assist the Controller and Finance and Accounting Team in producing accurate & timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and disclosures, including supporting schedules.
  • Review the current OTC control environment and identify controls in place. Identify gaps in the control structure (including accounting for variable based compensation based on revenue) and work with the commercial organization to modify/implement necessary controls.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to ensure annual audits are supported efficiently via preparation of PBC schedules and requested auditor analysis.
  • Oversee the OTC process to ensure efficiency and effectiveness with the associated underlying business process.
  • Ensure collection efforts are efficient to maximize customer payments.
  • Manage accounts receivable staff, including providing guidance and performance feedback.
  • Provide analysis of current and future collections to ensure budgets and projections are accurate.
  • Work on special projects and other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned as required by the Controller.
