About The Position

New hires are eligible for a sign on bonus This position is located at the Peninsula Outpatient Center (POPC) in Burlingame, CA. All Technologists must be willing to assist at any of the UCSF Medical Center Locations as needed. This per diem position requires availability to work two to three days a week, Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30pm. Sr. Mammography Technologist: A CRT licensed Mammography Technologist performing screening and diagnostic breast imaging and procedures. This technologist must be able to produce ACR quality images in both diagnostic and screening exams. This technologist is able to interact with clinicians and other departments to coordinate patient care. This technologist is able to evolve with radiology information system (RIS) and PACS systems. This technologist must participate in performance improvement activities in the department. Maintains appropriate quality control records and participates in routine equipment testing and maintenance. Additionally, this Mammography Technologist must be willing to train and interact with students and new hires when necessary. Principle Mammography Technologist: Is responsible for having a current CRT with the State of California and a current Mammography Certification with the State of California. The Principle Technologist is responsible for performing screening mammography, diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound and all interventional and invasive procedures in the Mammography Department. Complies with all regulatory mandates for mammography. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role. For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range. Requirements

  • Graduate of a formal radiology technology-training program in an AMA approved school.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, with the ability to rotate shifts and coverage for weekends and holidays.
  • Must be willing to assist at any of the UCSF Medical Center Locations.
  • Sr. Mammo Tech level requires minimum of 3 years of Mammography experience
  • BLS Basic Life Support (CPR) Certification
  • Requires proof of mammography - specific training of at least 40 documented hours, if certified after April 27, 1999.
  • Requires proof of having performed at least 200 mammography exams in the last 24 months (rolling 24-month calendar)
  • Requires certificates of at least 15 CEUs in Mammography in the last 36-month period (rolling 36 month calendar).
  • Requires proof of MQSA approved 8 hours each of Digital and 3D Tomosynthesis training.
  • Proof of initial 25 supervised mammograms
  • CRT (M) Mammography Certification
  • CRT (R) Radiologic Technologist Certification
  • BLS Basic Life Support (CPR) Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer recent work experience in an acute care setting.
  • ARRT (R) (M)
  • Prefer breast ultrasound experience
  • CRT Fluoroscopy License
