About The Position

The Senior Maintenance Technician will perform complex work related to the installation, inspection, calibration, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of structural, mechanical, electrical, electronic, and environmental compliance systems. This role involves assisting and directing the training of other employees, performing duties of lower or higher classifications as incidental to the job, and ensuring equipment conforms to company standards by checking prints and drawings. The technician will also record any changes or additional work on prints and sketches.

Requirements

  • Lead, direct, and train other employees assigned to work with him/her to obtain satisfactory work results.
  • An additional thirty-six (36) months experience as a Maintenance Technician or equivalent and successful completion of all training and testing required in this classification.
  • Sufficient experience and knowledge in work relating to operations, maintenance, inspection, calibration and repair of HVAC, lighting, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems so that he/she has developed a working knowledge of the operation and maintenance of such systems.
  • Demonstrated an aptitude and working knowledge for reading, interpreting, and working from complex structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Possess knowledge of standard electrical print symbols and have the ability to read and understand moderately complex electrical prints.
  • Certifications in HVAC and Refrigerant Handling and Recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all requirements listed under general and facility attendant.
  • Act in conjunction with supervision or individually as directed by supervision.
  • Assist and/or direct the training of other employees in the correct operation procedures necessary to fully satisfy the classification duties of a like technician, and in all lower classifications or other duties with which the employee is familiar.
  • Perform duties of lower or higher classifications that are incidental to the job and are within his/her capabilities including those needed for the purpose of training in the requirements of the higher classification.
  • Perform complex work in connection with the installation, inspection, calibration, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of structural, mechanical, electrical, electronic and environmental compliance systems, as directed.
  • Repair and assist in repairing and maintaining HVAC systems.
  • Check prints and drawings to see that equipment is connected and will function in the required manner and will conform to Company standards.
  • Record on all prints and sketches any changes or additional work necessitated by conditions in the field.
