About The Position

Performs a variety of mechanical tasks related to performing general maintenance on university buildings. Hours for this 4 day, 10 hour position are Wednesday through Saturday, 3:30 pm to 1:30 am.

Requirements

• Requires six months of mechanical/trade training beyond high school and two years of repair/maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Requires driver's license.

Nice To Haves

• Demonstrated two or more years of experience in troubleshooting, diagnostics and repairs in multiple maintenance trade areas.

Responsibilities

• Performs repair work; replaces tile; repairs doors and window; unstops sinks and other plumbing fixtures; repairs steam valves; replaces motors and pumps on heating/air conditioning equipment; repairs electric switches and receptacles.
• Reviews work orders and investigates site; determines proper repair procedures; estimates time and materials needed.
• Serves as informational resource to staff.
• Plans and conducts a comprehensive preventive maintenance program.
• Cleans and maintains tools and equipment.
• May assist in setting up of stages, rigging, curtains, and lighting system for special events.
