Senior Maintenance Mechanic – JLL What this job involves: As a Senior Maintenance Mechanic, you will perform critical preventive maintenance and repairs across a mixed-use facility portfolio in Tennessee. This hands-on role ensures operational excellence of building systems including HVAC, water chillers, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building automation, doors and gates, building envelope, grounds, parking lots, interior finishes, and lighting. Your responsibilities directly support JLL's standards for best-in-class facility management, energy efficiency, and client satisfaction. You will work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate closely with teams, contractors, building occupants, and clients, making a direct impact on property performance and safety.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of MEP/HVAC system design and application along with Universal EPA 608 Certification for proper refrigerant handling and environmental compliance
  • Minimum of two years in building engineering with demonstrated technical competency across all aspects of facility operations, emphasizing strong background in at least one specialized craft
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent along with maintaining a valid state driver's license for transportation to various work sites
  • Proven ability to repair and maintain commercial HVAC components including pumps, motors, air handlers, automation and control systems, and associated electrical equipment
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems for effective work order management along with demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office Suite and web-based applications
  • Ability to effectively manage diverse professional relationships with teammates, contractors, building occupants, and clients while demonstrating self-starter qualities and strong interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced knowledge of MEP/HVAC system design and application beyond basic requirements
  • Additional certifications in specialized trades or building systems
  • Good command of English language structure, composition, and grammar
  • Experience in Museum environments and/or historic facilities
  • Consistently positive attitude and proactive approach to problem-solving

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and building systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot basic plumbing and electrical issues; self-perform repairs as needed
  • Identify energy savings opportunities and optimize building system performance
  • Manage and complete work orders using CMMS technology
  • Maintain the property's interior and exterior, including repairs to walls, flooring, roofing, lighting, and fixtures
  • Interact daily with teams in person, via phone, and email to accomplish operational objectives
  • Assist other trades in general building and grounds maintenance
