About The Position

This position supports enterprise legacy systems as a S enior-level Mainframe Top Secret Security Administrator , classified under a Legacy Level 3 Software Engineer framework. The role is operational and infrastructure-focused, emphasizing mainframe security, systems administration, compliance, and transformation support rather than application development. The individual will serve as a subject-matter expert for mainframe security administration, supporting both ongoing legacy operations and mainframe modernization initiatives.

Requirements

• Eight or more years of hands-on experience with Top Secret Security (TSS) administration
• Five or more years of hands-on experience with z/OS systems administration
• Five or more years of experience with JES2 , z/OS UNIX System Services (OMVS) , and Storage Management Subsystem (SMS)
• Three or more years of experience with TLS configuration , including certificates, SSL, RSA keys, SFTP, and FTPS

Nice To Haves

• Experience with REXX scripting
• Experience with performance monitoring and initial performance analysis
• Experience supporting Informatica Power Exchange Administration for Change Data Capture using IMS and VSAM data sources
• Working knowledge of the following mainframe technologies and tools is strongly preferred: z/OS Operations and Administration z/OS Networking, including VTAM and TCP/IP Mainframe job scheduling and automation tools, including JOBTRAC Terminal emulation software VTAM session management tools SMP/E, RMF, SMF, WLM JCL, GRS, VSAM, TSO

Responsibilities

• Serve as the subject-matter expert for Mainframe Top Secret Security (TSS) administration, ensuring data security and regulatory compliance
• Perform senior-level systems administration for z/OS environments , supporting agency mainframe applications and infrastructure
• Execute day-to-day system administration activities, including configuration, break/fix support, and base user account provisioning
• Manage certificate renewals, TLS configurations, and access control within mainframe environments
• Conduct routine security administration, performance monitoring, system monitoring, and maintenance activities
• Diagnose platform and software issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
• Support mainframe production control processes, job scheduling, and batch operations
• Coordinate with Network Administration, Customer Support, and Applications Development and Support teams to ensure stable daily operations
• Provide end-user support for assigned Independent Software Vendor products, including terminal emulation tools
• Support data entry and control processes and oversee operational coordination within a consolidated data center environment
• Contribute expertise to both Legacy Systems support and Mainframe Transformation initiatives
