The Sr. Mainframe Modernization Architect at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a pivotal role focused on driving the technical strategy for mainframe migrations and modernizations. This position involves engaging with strategic partners and customers to promote AWS's utility computing services and mainframe modernization tools. The architect will serve as a trusted advisor, providing architectural guidance, creating joint offerings, and showcasing customer success stories to enhance AWS's market presence in the mainframe domain.

  • Serve as a key member in helping to drive overall AWS mainframe technical strategy.
  • Enable and align partners with AWS mainframe modernization approach and methodology.
  • Create joint offerings that include AWS services, ProServe, consulting partners, and technology partners.
  • Advise customers and commercial sales teams on the AWS mainframe modernization approach and recommend qualified partners.
  • Showcase customer success from mainframe projects with partner case studies and thought leadership.
  • Provide architectural guidance and recommendations to promote successful partner engagements worldwide.
  • Capture and share best-practice knowledge with the broader Solution Architect community.
  • Share customer/partner feedback with internal product management and engineering teams.
  • Compose and deliver technical content such as blogs, whitepapers, and presentations at major conferences.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience in the software or Internet industries.
  • 10+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications and infrastructures.
  • 10+ years of Mainframe/Legacy Migration/Modernization experience.
  • 10+ years of experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders.
  • Experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking.
  • Experience working with end user or developer communities.
