About The Position

Join us as Sr. Logistics Specialist who will play a pivotal role within Norit’s Supply Chain team, ensuring the reliable, efficient movement of materials across plants, warehouses, and customer locations. This position is essential to supporting service excellence, operational reliability, and a culture where employees are empowered to act as owners—taking initiative, solving problems proactively, and driving improvements across the logistics function.

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent professional experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, bulk transportation, or supply chain operations in manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) strongly preferred
  • Excellent planning, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Clear, confident communicator with strong collaboration abilities
  • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for service excellence
  • Proactive, ownership-driven problem solver who can act decisively

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and optimize transportation activities by scheduling carriers, evaluating delivery windows, load constraints, and shipment priorities, and adjusting plans proactively as conditions change.
  • Lead the coordination of emergency and expedited shipments
  • Work with carriers to identify alternative routing when delays or disruptions occur
  • Monitor open orders and transportation reports to identify and resolve at-risk shipments
  • Serve as a go-to contact for escalated or sensitive logistics issues
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Care, plants, warehouses, and external partners to ensure seamless service and clear communication on shipment status, risks, and solutions.
  • Demonstrate ownership and drive improvement by taking full accountability for logistics outcomes, proactively solving problems, and identifying process enhancements to improve efficiency and service quality.
  • Maintain ERP accuracy and compliance by ensuring transportation data, documentation, and records are complete, accurate, audit-ready, and aligned with Responsible Care® and RC14001® requirements.
