Requirements

  • A Professional Engineering (PE) license is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on designing mechanical systems for manufacturing facilities.
  • Ability to complete mechanical system analysis, sizing, design, and report writing.
  • Proven expertise in equipment sizing, HVAC systems, and various mechanical systems specific to manufacturing plants.
  • In-depth knowledge of water, chilled water, wastewater, cooling towers/condensers, boiler/steam or hot water systems, hydronic systems, compressed gases, waste/drain, and other plumbing systems.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software, including REVIT, AutoCAD MEP, and Navisworks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with clients and team members.
  • Willingness to travel for project requirements, including installation and start-up activities, client meetings, company-sponsored meetings, training, industry-related seminars, forums, and conventions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and engineering of mechanical systems within manufacturing facilities, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
  • Determine appropriate equipment sizes for efficient and effective operation of mechanical systems.
  • Design HVAC systems involving air handling units, chemical and laminar fume hoods, unit heaters/coolers, and other HVAC components.
  • Engineer fluid systems for water, chilled water, wastewater, cooling towers/condensers, boiler/steam or hot water, hydronic systems, and compressed gases.
  • Ensure that all mechanical designs meet local, state, and federal regulations and codes.
  • Utilize industry-standard software including REVIT, AutoCAD MEP, and Navisworks for modeling, simulation, and design.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their requirements, provide technical insights, and develop solutions that align with their goals.
  • Follow and maintain quality control processes to ensure that mechanical designs meet the highest standards and client expectations.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, architects, and contractors to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into larger projects.
  • Oversee mechanical engineering aspects of projects, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
