About The Position

The Senior Legal Counsel will assist the Investigations Associate General Counsel in oversight of Enbridge’s Enterprise Compliance Program. They will be responsible for investigating alleged misconduct, establishing standards, controls and procedures to reduce non-compliance, unethical, and improper conduct, for ensuring standards are communicated and institutionalized throughout Enbridge, and for monitoring compliance with standards and procedures. Requirements

• You possess a Bachelor’s Degree and Juris Doctor from an accredited university.
• Membership in a law society/bar association.
• 8+ years of experience in legal work with law firm, government, or in-house legal group after receiving bar association membership.
• 5+ years conducting ethics, compliance, misconduct, or similar investigations.
• Ability to adapt quickly, prioritize optimally, and have a highly developed level of common sense and eye for business.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Ethics and Compliance investigations team to conduct internal investigations into allegations of ethics and compliance-related misconduct.
• Think innovatively and strategically to provide effectiveness enhancements and assist with management of the Ethics and Compliance investigations program.
• Strategically develop and prioritize proactive monitoring in key risk areas for timely discovery of potential misconduct.
• Advise on, implement, and continuously assess protocols and technologies to ensure effective, efficient, and consistent investigative processes.
• Utilize data analytics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Keep abreast of changes in applicable rules, regulations, standards and related trends that are relevant to Enbridge operations and the Ethics and Compliance program and to make vital modifications to policies and procedures.
• Provide training and continuous advice to Company personnel concerning ethics and compliance topics, and work with other corporate support functions to develop training materials for compliance-related issues.
• Evaluate and provide compliance-related advice to Company business units.
• Collaborate with Internal Audit, Human Resources, Safety, Legal, Business Leadership, and other stakeholders to mitigate and address risk across the company.
