About The Position

This is development focused role that will partner with Packaging Category Leads to develop and support structural and material engineering challenges. This role requires a deep understanding of packaging design, supplier capabilities, as well as existing and emerging materials and processes. Responsible for supporting the Menu and Packaging teams with new packaging design and development, and existing packaging improvements. Innovate the Guest Experience through simple but effective packaging solutions that delight our Guests. Innovate the Team Member Experience through packaging initiatives that reduce operational complexity and ensure packaging quality meets restaurant operational requirements. Partner with Suppliers to ensure performance needs are met, based on specification and usability requirements. Partner with Operators to ensure packaging performance needs are met and capture any improvements required for new development work. Partner with Supply Chain, Menu Services, Menu, Supplier Quality, and other key cross-functional partners to problem-solve with packaging initiatives, ensuring strong lines of communication and goal alignment. Collaborate with internal peers, showing work in motion and driving for peer alignment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Science or related discipline
• 4+ years of related professional experience
• QSR Experience in packaging design
• Working knowledge of packaging development, materials, and processes.

• 6+ years of related professional experience
• Deep expertise in QSR packaging Design, testing and Specification.
• Experience working with key QSR suppliers.
• Critical thinking and organization.
• Forms strong relationships based on trust.
• Experience crafting Packaging Strategy for QSR or equivalent.
• Ability to cast a vision at the team level.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Packaging Design and Development to solve for sustainability, accuracy, simplification, and deliverability of our menu.
• Collaborate with Packaging and Menu Category Leads to ensure product development meets project goals and desired outcome.
• Prototype and iterate concepts to ensure remarkable execution.
• Partner with internal testing and specification resources to create best-in-class packaging specification targets.
• Work cross-functionally to ensure alignment and concept balance.
