Peraton is looking for a Senior Software Developer in Aurora, CO to support Intelligence Community and DoD customers as part of a talented, high-performing team. As part of this team you will work with emerging service and distributed computing technologies for satellite situational awareness (SSA) data processing and distribution. The EMMETT program, a next gen Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Indications and Warning (I&W) system, establishes a repository of resident space objects (RSOs), finds RSOs of interest, and provides data to ground operators. The EMMETT team uses: programmatics, sensor modeling, and system engineering expertise to deliver this world-class SDA I&W system.

  • Provide TS/SCI Java software development of modules, including event-driven or state-driven programming, error logging, and exception handling.
  • Perform TS/SCI software analysis, architecture, engineering, and integration services at the unit, module, and system levels.
  • Perform all aspects of software engineering support required to implement systems.
  • Adhere to open standards and modern software development methodologies, including best practices by Industry.
  • Provide technical reports, white papers and other documentation as required to document findings of all software engineering service activities.
  • A Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience, or an additional four (4) years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of Top Secret clearance with ability to upgrade to TS/SCI and pass a polygraph within 30 days of employment.
  • 5+ years of experience with Java.
  • 3+ years of experience in working with microservices and containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with backend frameworks, such as Spring Framework or Spring Boot.
  • Experience with API development, including REST architectural style.
  • Experience with integration and development tools, including AWS, Bitbucket, or Jenkins.
  • Experience with supporting systems engineering efforts in system design, solution engineering, and software development.
  • Experience with Linux OS and Command Line Interface.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 Compliant Certification, including Security+ or CISSP, within 6 months of start date.
  • Experience with Open Systems Architecture design principles.
  • Experience with DevOps technologies.
  • Experience with CI/CD technologies, including Ansible, Jenkins, and GIT.
  • Experience with Agile development or Scrum.
  • Knowledge of non-relational databases, including MongoDB.
  • Knowledge of Apache NiFi and Kafka.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment.
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
  • Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security, or GSEC Certification.
