The Senior Java Developer will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, researching, and implementing software solutions, particularly focusing on the Point of Sale (POS) systems. This role involves collaborating on special projects, ensuring customer requirements are met, and maintaining documentation for ongoing support. The developer will also need to stay updated on industry trends and effectively communicate with non-IT personnel and vendors.

  • Participate in special projects, including the Next Gen Point of Sale platform.
  • Design and develop software programs to meet customer and business requirements.
  • Coordinate systems analysis, development, testing, and implementation activities.
  • Organize and prepare program and system documentation according to established procedures.
  • Prevent unauthorized access to information and report any attempts.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and evaluate opportunities for effective technology usage.
  • Produce management reports completely, accurately, and on time.
  • Report problems to appropriate management in a timely manner.
  • Participate in educational and on-the-job training programs as recommended by IT management.
  • Communicate effectively with non-IT personnel and vendors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience, with 3+ years of Software Development Experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree or a Master's degree.
  • In-depth understanding of Point of Sale concepts (Toshiba SI & Toshiba DIF) and Micro Services API first architecture.
  • Development skills using Java; Python is a plus.
  • Experience with toolsets such as .NET Core, Docker, Spring, Maven, NPM/Yarn, CSS Sass, JSON / Open API is a plus.
  • Experience in building APIs at scale, preferably using micro services architecture principles.
  • Experience in developing applications using unit-test framework.
  • Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.
  • Exposure to Payments domain is a plus.
  • Experience with high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems.
  • Experience with Toshiba Store Integrator (SI).
  • Experience with Toshiba's SI platform solution for retailers.
  • Experience with Toshiba DIF (data integration facility), a Java-based application.
