About The Position

Smiley Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Systems Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role is integral to the success of IT operations, focusing on the design, implementation, management, and support of key complex systems across a hybrid IT environment. The ideal candidate will excel in designing and managing both on-premises and cloud technologies, ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of Smiley and clients' infrastructure.

Requirements

• Proven experience in implementing and administering Entra ID/Azure AD.
• Strong knowledge of hybrid identity solutions and Active Directory environments.
• Experience with Microsoft Intune and Group Policy management.
• Familiarity with authentication protocols such as OAuth, SAML, and OpenID.
• Experience managing devices across multiple platforms using MDM solutions.
• Proven experience with MFA integrations and migrations.
• Knowledge of DNS management in cloud environments.
• Experience with cloud-based printing solutions.
• Strong skills in VMware suite for virtual machine networking and storage.
• Experience managing hardware lifecycles, specifically HPE and Dell.
• Knowledge of patch management tools and enterprise backup platforms.
• Familiarity with security and regulatory frameworks for compliance.
• Project management experience with large-scale IT projects.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with .Net Core and Azure environments.
• Familiarity with disaster recovery planning and execution.
• Knowledge of agile project management methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Implement and administer Entra ID/Azure AD for hybrid identity solutions and integration between on-premises and cloud environments.
• Lead projects to implement hybrid-joined devices and Active Directory environments, transitioning to fully cloud-joined environments.
• Manage devices and configurations through Microsoft Intune and on-premises Group Policy creation, deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Support conditional access policies in Entra ID/Azure AD, working with authentication protocols like OAuth, SAML, and OpenID.
• Implement solutions to manage devices across multiple platforms (iOS, Android, Windows) using MDM solutions.
• Lead projects for MFA integrations and migrations for enterprise environments, providing day-to-day support within MFA solutions.
• Manage DNS in both on-premises and cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, Cloudflare, Google Cloud).
• Design, implement, and support cloud-based printing platforms such as Microsoft Universal Print.
• Engineer and administer virtual machine networking, storage, and optimization within VMware suite.
• Manage hardware lifecycles, including firmware updates, RAID configurations, and performance tuning for HPE and Dell hardware.
• Administer patch management tools like WSUS, SCCM, and third-party RMM platforms.
• Administer enterprise backup platforms like Barracuda, Veeam, and Unitrends, supporting disaster recovery plans.
• Support security & regulatory frameworks like GLBA, NIST, CIS, FFIEC, and PCI for compliance.
• Plan and execute large-scale IT projects, providing clear communication and documentation using tools like Microsoft Project or Jira.
• Cultivate and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and trust.
• Manage multiple priorities effectively in an agile, fast-paced environment.
