About The Position

The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for leading teams to successfully deliver projects from inception to completion. This position requires a deep understanding of project management methodologies, strong leadership skills, effective communication, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in delivering custom software development, software package implementation, and IT infrastructure projects. The Senior IT Project Manager develops an understanding of interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs and partners with senior leaders to ensure projects produce the desired outcomes within the agreed constraints of quality, time, and cost. This role also contributes to developing and maturing PMO standards by participating in the creation of consistent practices, templates, policies, and tools to facilitate project success. The Senior IT Project Manager may also manage and supervise other project managers, including recruiting, training, mentoring, and performance management. The Senior IT Project Manager plays a critical role in ensuring alignment between project delivery and enterprise strategy, driving measurable business outcomes, and advancing the maturity of project governance within the IT PMO. This individual is self-driven, results-oriented, and thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments. They demonstrate agility, resilience, and the ability to bring order to ambiguity while maintaining focus on outcomes and stakeholder alignment.

Requirements

  • Project Management experience
  • Experience in an IT environment
  • Experience in systems development life cycle
  • Experience managing processes and systems implementation projects with a formalized methodology
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office technologies, including Office Suite, Project, Visio, and SharePoint
  • Strong facilitation, leadership, and team management skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex, technical concepts in clear concise language; to convey clear, concise information in verbal, written, electronic, and other communication formats; and to demonstrate active listening while engaging others
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive business relationships and foster an environment of mutual respect, understanding, trust, and support
  • Ability to coach and mentor direct reports and teammates
  • Ability to assess situations, provide counsel, and identify solutions that resolve disputes/issues, while considering the best interests of all parties; to develop and implement short and long-term solutions; and to apply effective problem solving and decision-making to address business needs and issues
  • Ability to motivate team members to meet project goals by effectively carrying out their responsibilities
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Solid skills in critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making
  • Working knowledge of quality assurance principles and system testing
  • Working knowledge of the interdependencies between/across businesses to proactively identify risks/issues that could have an impact on business results
  • Ability to manage all phases of projects; and to get things done on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards
  • Ability to adapt and adjust planned work through analyzing work demands, competing priorities, and tight deadlines; and to understand the most effective and efficient means to accomplish tasks within the parameters of the organizational structure, processes, systems, and policies
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in dealing with matters of significance; to assess a situation, conduct research, analyze data, and arrive at valid conclusions; and to develop and execute plans
