The Enterprise Services Datacenter Network Organization designs, implements and operates a state-of-the-art Information Systems Infrastructure serving around 110,000 employees, in over 750 locations across 65 plus countries. We work with the latest and emerging technologies to deliver scalable, high performing, always available infrastructure services around the world. We deliver services that connect, host, virtualize, store, collaborate, integrate, compute and transact business solutions that utilizes cloud first, automation, analytics, “as a Service”, BIG data and software defined. The Lead Systems Administrator will be responsible for operational support of Server Infrastructure for regional servers at Honeywell. You will work in VMware, Windows & Linux Server Architecture & Administration (Windows 2025, 2022, 2019/2016/2012 Operating Systems & NIX). This role includes complimentary technology management of regional infrastructure such as network & backup infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree f rom an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
  • 10 or more years of experience in operational support of enterprise server ecosystem
  • 5 or more years of Windows Server, Linux OS (Redhat, Ubuntu) and Virtualization platforms such as VMWare, VXRail, vSAN and NSX, Nutanix
  • 1 or more years of server automation activities or Infrastructure as code (CHEF, Amelia, Powershell, Cloudinit), GitHUB
  • 3 or more years with ServiceNow or another formal Service Management platform and/or methodology
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows 2016 and 2019,2022 and 2025 operating systems
  • Experience with supporting mission critical infrastructure operations
  • Excellent leadership communication and executive presence

Nice To Haves

  • Patching tools such as Tanium and Windows security standards & OS Hardening concepts are a plus
  • Experience with support of Azure or AWS servers and cloud storage such as Nasuni or Netapp
  • Experience with support of wired/wireless Network infrastructure such as Cisco, Dell and Juniper switches
  • Experience with support of data recovery products such as Rubrik
  • Capacity planning, performance optimization experience
  • Familiarity with IT Service Management tools such as ServiceNow and having experience with monitoring and reporting using Splunk.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, VPN, NFS/SMB/CIFS/SCSI).
  • Experience with Installation, Racking & Stacking of Hardware
  • Creation and maintenance of runbook and standards documentation management and audit support.
  • Experience with support of IT/OT systems, including network implementation & segmentation, PLC’s and field devices, and IT systems
  • Understands both Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Windows based PC’s and server VM’s and industrial network architectures and how to effectively support these technologies
  • Strong influencing, program and change management skills
  • Strong business acumen and customer focus
  • Effectively demonstrates ability to deliver on complex situations or problems without guidance or supervision
  • Creative and collaborative problem-solving capability

Responsibilities

  • Operational support of on premise and regional server stacks and technology
  • Work with Hyper Converged Infrastructure technology platforms such as Dell VXRail
  • Troubleshoot performance issues related to virtualized workloads
  • Facilitate Implementation of new technology stacks and migration of workloads from on-prem to hybrid cloud or pure cloud
  • Travel on a rotating basis to regional Infrastructure deployments for support
  • Global operational support of our server ecosystem
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support application and infrastructure-related issues.
  • Lead projects for onboarding sites into support models and manage related activities.
  • Available for on-call and weekend maintenance, Coordinate with vendors for support and hardware needs, collaborate across IT teams to align storage with organizational goals
  • Translate business issues / requirements and objectives into technical solutions
