About The Position

As the creators of Apple’s News and Stocks apps running on iOS, watchOS, macOS, and tvOS, the engineers on our team have an enormous impact on the products we ship. We all care deeply about crafting experiences of the highest quality. As a Senior iOS Engineer on the team, you will be a key technical leader, driving the architectural design, implementation, and evolution of core features for next-generation News and Stocks experiences. You will thrive in a dynamic environment, balancing deep technical execution with critical thinking across complex systems, while rapidly prototyping innovative ideas and establishing robust, forward-looking architectural foundations. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience with Swift, a deep understanding of Apple’s ecosystem, and a strong passion for delivering high-quality software. You will collaborate closely with a team of dedicated engineers, designers, and domain experts to build new features, enhance existing applications, and deliver reliable, high-performing software, creating user-delighting features while laying a strong technical foundation for future development. Strong engineering, collaboration, and leadership skills are essential to success in this role.

Requirements

• 6+ years of iOS software engineering experience with Swift/SwiftUI or UIKit/AppKit
• Strong mastery of software architecture, object-oriented design, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
• Proven track record of technical excellence, setting a high bar for code quality, documentation, and engineering best practices
• Ability to break down complex features into practical, scalable, and implementable solutions
• Expertise in identifying and resolving iOS performance bottlenecks, including memory management and power efficiency
• Experience technically leading projects, mentoring engineers, and driving cross-functional initiatives from concept to delivery
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in highly collaborative environments
