The Senior Investor Relations Manager is the right hand to the Managing Director, helping lead the strategy and daily execution of Southwest’s engagement with the investment community. This role drives quarterly earnings prep, disclosures, investor outreach, and market‑driven insights spanning capital markets, retail investing, hedging, and stock‑trend analysis. As a key advisor to senior Leadership, and the IR lead when needed, this role will help tell Southwest’s financial story with clarity and impact, strengthening investor confidence and supporting the Company’s long‑term success.   • Partner with the Managing Director in developing and executing Investor Relations strategies.
  • Lead investor engagement strategy, including long-only prioritization, relationship development, and targeted outreach; independently manage institutional relationships and represent the Company across all investor segments.
  • Serve as an authorized spokesperson and high-judgment communicator on behalf of Southwest, ensuring all external messaging adheres to Regulation FD, SEC disclosure requirements, and Company guidelines.
  • Lead development, review, and quality control for all major IR communications, including earnings materials, press releases, scripts, Q&A documents, annual reports, investor-day materials, and Executive-level briefings.
  • Own the sustainability function within Investor Relations, including cross-departmental coordination, representing IR in key Company ESG working groups, and independently communicating with the investment community.
  • Oversee comprehensive model reviews and consensus analysis; identify deltas versus guidance and advise leadership on material variances and messaging risks.
  • Prioritize and respond to Stakeholder requests of the Chief Financial Officer's office.
  • Independently present to and interact with C-Level Executives.
  • Represent Southwest at Investor/analyst meetings, conferences, and roadshows.
  • Coach and develop junior IR staff on analytics, communications, and event execution.
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders.
  • Knowledge of financial markets, institutional investor behavior, disclosure practices and capital-markets communication standards for publicly traded companies.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in financial statement analysis, valuation frameworks, and airline-specific operational/financial metrics (CASM, RASM, ASM’s, etc.)
  • Skilled in translating financial and operational data into actionable insights and compelling, investor-ready narratives.
  • Skilled in investor-relations and analytics platforms (e.g., Nasdaq IR Insight, S&P Capital IQ, FactSet, AlphaSense) and data-visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Skilled in managing multiple concurrent priorities, including earnings cycles, complex analytical workflows, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Ability to partner well with People at all levels within the investment community, the public, and the Company.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas succinctly and so others understand.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Innovator level experience, highest level of knowledge in: Investor Relations, Corporate Finance, capital markets or analytics experience with progressive responsibility
  • Prior experience presenting to executives and external stakeholders
  • Ability to perform work duties from limited space work station/desk/office area for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary, and sensitive Company information
  • MBA and/or CFA
  • Previous or current experience within aviation
