JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for delivering comprehensive portfolio management to existing client portfolios, contributing to asset allocation modeling, portfolio management, manager research, attribution analysis, performance measurements, creation of client presentation material and a broad range of investment analysis projects. In addition, this role also is responsible for new business generation and contributing to thought leadership and portfolio construction as a member of the Investment Services team.

Requirements

  • Extensive working knowledge of investments, portfolio management, and governmental laws and regulations surrounding involvement with customers and the investment process.
  • Familiarity and preferred background with the Investment Advisors Act of 1940; Securities Act of 1933, and Investment Company Act of 1940; FINRA and SEC rules; and state regulations
  • Strong customer relation skills, self-motivation, strong attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to respond timely to multiple client/administrative problems simultaneously.
  • Computer skills, including the use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database management programs.
  • Proven ability to prioritize, manage, and report the status of multiple projects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other teammates and as part of an investment team.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems, find resolutions to those problems, and recommend corrections.
  • Strong aptitude for understanding complex and changing security laws and regulations.
  • Ability to complete required training by assigned due date.
  • Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field required.
  • CFA required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in investment analysis and security selection is required.

Responsibilities

  • Client Portfolio Management (40%)
  • Investment Strategy and Ideation.
  • Works directly with the Investment Services team on the approved stock and fund lists and provides input on asset allocation and private market investments.
  • Drives the generation and development of custom and innovative investment strategies and ideas that align with client objectives and market opportunities.
  • Leads the end-to-end design and construction of bespoke, goals-based investment portfolios for individual and institutional clients.
  • As part of the Investment Services team, develops and implements customized investment solutions and asset allocation models tailored to specific client risk profiles, time horizons, and financial goals.
  • Discusses macro and micro economic trends and information with clients and prospects.
  • Maintains the investment portfolio for a selected group of clients.
  • Ensures the portfolios are invested according to their Investment Policy Statement (IPS) and asset allocation strategy.
  • Completes all risk and compliance reviews for assigned investment accounts.
  • Purchases fixed-income securities in accordance with the IPS.
  • New Business Referrals and Lead Generation (30%)
  • Refers and works new AUM business opportunities for the Texas Private Client Services group, contributing to AUM goals each year.
  • Leads the investment discussions for new business opportunities for the Texas Private Client Services group.
  • Refers new business opportunities to other Bank groups, e.g. Commercial lending, SBA, and Real Estate Lending.
  • Relationship Management (20%)
  • Manages client relationships in collaboration with the members of the Texas Private Client Services team meeting with clients, responding to client requests, and proactively reaching out to clients on a regular basis.
  • Leadership (10%)
  • Exhibits leadership as part of the Investment Services team contributing to core portfolio construction and thought leadership pieces.
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned.
