The role involves performing complex interior design assignments with specific and detailed instructions regarding tasks and expected results. The individual will work with the project team to assist in completing various project phases, ensuring that the project or a phase of it remains on schedule. Responsibilities include the selection and specification of all interior architectural materials and finishes, furniture, lighting, and artwork. The designer will develop innovative design concepts that are practical, aesthetic, safe, and conducive to the intended purposes, reflecting client goals and staying within project budgets. The position also requires conducting programming efforts, space planning, layout, and utilization of furnishings and equipment, as well as coordinating color and material palettes. The designer will incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects, render conceptual design ideas, prepare 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings, and conduct client presentations. Additionally, the role involves preparing, correcting, and updating documents during schematic design and design development phases, soliciting bids, and assisting the Project Manager and client in subcontracting fabrication, installation, and arrangement of materials. Effective communication with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors is essential to ensure all information is incorporated into project requirements. The designer will implement and utilize HOK Standards for all projects and processes, may provide support to team members, mentor less experienced staff, and participate in recruiting professional staff.
