Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience with the installation and commissioning of low voltage/ Data Communication systems including Security (CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion), Audio/Visual, and Wireless Communication
  • OSHA 10 required
  • MA State D-License (Required for MA Security work)
  • Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience related to all job duties of this position is required
  • Construction and/ or Industry experience required
  • Experience Cabling, low voltage infrastructure & terminations per all applicable state, local codes and BICSI standards required
  • Experience with Mission Critical Systems- Security (CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion), A/V, Wireless Communication required
  • Experience with the following systems preferred: Genetec, DMP, Avigilon, Hirsch, Bosch, Milestone, Ceragon, Cambium, Siklu
  • Reliable transportation and a valid drivers' license required
  • Ability to independently lead/ manage medium to large sized Mission Critical projects
  • Ability to read and interpret project scopes, one lines, floor plans, submittals, specifications, test reports and other related project documentation
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills, especially working in occupied and sensitive environments
  • Proficient in cabling best practices- running, supporting, and terminating category rated and multiconductor cabling
  • Experience/ certified with Fire Stopping; must be able to fire-stop any penetrations made or found
  • General understanding of computers and basic Microsoft Windows Applications
  • General understanding of networking concepts (wired and wireless)
  • Demonstrate general skills required to configure and troubleshoot device connectivity (LAN and Internet access)
  • Proficient with low voltage crimp tools, testing tools (meters, toners, etc.) and the use of other construction related tools
  • Ability to demonstrate persistence, tactfulness, and responsibility; maintain silence regarding confidential information; make decisions based on personal judgement and verifiable criteria; deal effectively with people in actual job duties beyond giving and receiving instruction
  • Demonstrate proficient skills to provide competent customer service using active listening and empathy during various interactions (i.e., in-person, phone, email, and chat)
  • Must be able to travel throughout New England as required (RI, MA, NH, ME).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with integrated security control systems (lock control) within Detention Facilities, Prisons, and Courts and other sensitive environments preferred
  • RI TST Data Licensing preferred
  • Firestop Certified (Hilti or 3M) preferred
  • Boom and scissor Lift Certified preferred
  • Industry/ manufacturer certifications preferred

Responsibilities

  • Take lead on and support with repair/maintenance and the general installation of Mission Critical systems throughout New England, including but not limited to: Security(CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion), A/V, & Wireless Communication.
  • Perform low voltage cable installation, cable management, cable terminations, device installation, and other assigned project duties as required.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair systems and/ or equipment as necessary.
  • Produce accurate documentation for the project as required including: system commissioning reports, Test Reports, As builts, system certification, etc.
  • Provide daily project status updates, as required, and communication to the Project Management team.
  • Summarize, report and present non-compliant attributes of a project, site, or system.
  • Think clearly and logistically to make accurate decisions based on personal and professional judgement and verifiable criteria.
