NDT Inspector. Services, repairs, and overhauls aircraft and aircraft engines to ensure airworthiness by performing the following duties: What you will be responsible for: Process daily incoming and outgoing material to meet Quality Control requirements as stated in the AAR ISO 9000 Procedures Manual and Customer Requirements Manual. Record all inspection functions on applicable paperwork in accordance with the customer and company policies and procedures. Assist the Director of Quality Control in reviewing and updating departmental standards. Conduct NDT for the acceptance of parts and document the results if a demonstration of proficiency in this ability was included in the practical examination. Interface with suppliers/product line in disposition rejects. Perform NDT inspections in compliance with customer work instructions, and AAR procedures and policies. Record all inspection functions on applicable paperwork in accordance with the customer policies and procedures. Responsible for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) of Aircraft and Components. Have the skills and knowledge to interpret codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the NDT method(s) as used by the employer. Shall be capable of assuming technical responsibility for the NDT facility and staff. Selecting the method and technique for a specific inspection. Preparing and verifying the adequacy of procedures and work instructions. Approve NDT procedures and work instructions for technical adequacy. All other duties as assigned. What you will need to be successful in this role: Have a general knowledge of other NDT methods, product manufacturing, and inspection technologies used by the employer When specified in written practice, have a basic knowledge of aircraft maintenance. Be capable of providing or directing training, examination, and certification of personnel. When specified in the written practice, be capable of auditing outside agencies to ensure the requirements of the written practice are met. Level II certification for one or more applicable NDT disciplines. Ability to correctly use one or more types of applicable NDT equipment. 3-4 years’ experience in aircraft NDT. Familiar with aircraft manufacturers technical documentation. Ability to read and interpret Ads, S/Bs, SRMs, industry NDT specifications and other work instructions. Familiar with regulatory requirements of FAR 145 repair station. FAA A&P License required. Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to speak, read and comprehend standard English. Compensation: The anticipated salary range for this position is $27.15 to $33.68 hourly. This range reflects the base pay for candidates who meet the requirements of the role, including experience, education, and location.
