About The Position

HII - Mission Technologies is currently seeking experienced Information System Security Officers (ISSO's) to work out of Albuquerque, NM, in support of an Air Force and Space Force contractor MS&A and A.I. team. Primary responsibility will be establishing secure environments and software to enable engineers to perform operations. The objective of the Space Development group is to provide innovative technology solutions to ensure our Nation achieves and maintains space superiority in a multi-domain conflict. We're looking for a Sr. Information Systems Security Officer to develop space combat power and multi-domain simulation software. This software will support force structure planning, Digital Test and Training - Synthetic Environment, Joint Combatant Command analysis and operations support, Space Force testing and training, and research and development of space systems. As a Sr. Information Systems Security Officer, you will be expected to maintain and manage workflow of junior administrators, in addition to leading projects under the Space Protection and Response Solution program. The work will be on-site at Kirtland AFB.

Requirements

  • 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
  • Must currently hold an Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Deep understanding of RMF, ATO processes, and cybersecurity controls
  • Proven experience with ACAS scanning and vulnerability management in a DoD or enterprise environment
  • Strong background in network/systems engineering for DoD/Federal clients

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience guiding development projects through ATO approval process
  • Familiarity with XACTA and DoD Cyber Control implementation
  • Military experience or prior work in a DoD environment
  • 8570 Level I & II certifications

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement secure systems aligned with DoD RMF standards
  • Lead system accreditation, vulnerability assessments, and insider threat mitigation
  • Guide junior administrators and manage cybersecurity workflows
  • Support secure operations for simulation software used in force structure planning, joint command analysis, and R&D
  • Conduct security surveys, maintain records, and prepare detailed reports
  • Coordinate inspections and ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies
  • Review, prepare, and update accreditation packages.
  • Notify customers when changes occur that might affect accreditation/certification.
  • Perform self-inspections, provide security coordination, and review of all system test plans.
  • Prepare reports on the status of security safeguards applied to computer systems.
  • Ensure network nodes are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with DoD policies and practices.
  • Perform ISSO duties in support of in-house and external customers.
