About The Position

The SR Industrial Engineer supports a nationwide network of contract packaging sites and distribution centers by designing warehouse solutions, analyzing productivity, and driving cost-effective process improvements. This role combines hands-on engineering, data analysis, customer interaction, and project management to deliver safe, efficient, and scalable operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • 4+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment, automation provider/integrator, and/or a retailer or ecommerce organization with significant investment in manufacturing or warehouse automation systems.
  • Hands on experience with automation projects, including one or more of the following: New equipment implementation, Robotics, Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs)
  • Demonstrated history of executing major automation projects from concept through implementation.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Flexibility and willingness to support systems and operations as needed.
  • Working knowledge of Warehouse Management System (WMS) features and functionality.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Power BI and/or SQL for data analysis and reporting.
  • Working knowledge of CAD tools and discrete event simulation software.
  • Experience supporting or advising cross functional teams during automation system design, testing, and ramp up phases.
  • Exposure to largescale or multi site automation initiatives within distribution, manufacturing, or 3PL environments.

Responsibilities

  • Serve advisor to the customer Onsite operations, identifying automation best practices for the successful implementation of new automation systems.
  • Work closely with primary integrator and advise on system adjustments while testing the equipment, controls, and software to ensure the functionality aligns with the design specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with the Operations and R&D teams (aka Solution Design team) during the bid process to identify, design, price, and present offers to the prospective customers.
  • Work closely with site operations and engineering team to develop a roadmap for sustainable processes and long-term automation project pipeline.
  • Identify automation partners, solutions, and technologies that best-fit ID Logistics’ vision for growth in key industries and with key customers.
  • Work with network engineering team to define an automation roadmap to improve market competitiveness.
  • Investigate new automation solutions and technologies that will improve ID Logistics’ market offering.
  • Develop bid documentation, coordinate the bid process, and assist with vendor selection to procure equipment/services at the best value for the customer while ensuring all design specifications are being achieved.
  • Collaborate closely with suppliers, site operations, IT, systems teams for planning and coordination of the automation projects. Drive tasks to completion by the timeline, design criteria, and budget.
  • Act as a Project Manager on the coordination of all implementation teams (internal, vendors, customer) and efforts related to installation, testing, and commissioning of system.
  • Ensure efficient management of the automation system within the co packing through close interface with the Automation Maintenance Lead and the responsible supplier.
  • Identify faults, troubleshoot issues, and enhance control solutions for automated equipment.
  • Examine trends, analyze data to obtain insights for decision-making processes. Drive continuous improvement to increase co-pack/warehouse productivity and expand capacity. Support analysis and reporting operations.
  • Design and develop reports, and dashboards on KPIs to be shared with the customer.
