About The Position

The Sr. Industrial Engineer at FreshDirect will play a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiency across the organization. This position focuses on process optimization, network routing, and strategic improvements by leveraging advanced data analytics and engineering principles. The ideal candidate will lead initiatives aimed at reducing costs, improving service reliability, and optimizing resource allocation.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in operations, logistics, warehousing, or manufacturing with a focus on process improvement and data analysis.
• Proficiency in data analysis, including 2+ years of experience with SQL and advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables).
• Experience with network optimization tools and business intelligence platforms.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage projects involving multiple stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience tailoring messages for diverse audiences.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a union environment.
• Familiarity with automated systems, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and SAP.
• Hands-on experience with routing and network optimization tools like Roadnet Systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to identify and implement process improvements through data analytics and modeling techniques.
• Utilize advanced routing and network optimization tools to develop and implement strategies that minimize delivery costs and maximize labor productivity.
• Develop and execute scheduling algorithms to optimize distribution schedules and conduct intraday forecasting of order volumes.
• Provide detailed daily and weekly reports to operational managers using business intelligence platforms to analyze service and labor data.
• Support and lead activities related to process changes and cost control, driving improvements from idea generation through to implementation.
• Work closely with transportation planning, operations teams, and application development teams to address process challenges and implement effective solutions.
• Develop, enforce, and ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Oversee projects from initiation to completion, including cost justification, planning, execution, training, and support.
• Analyze and interpret data to validate and quantify process improvements.
