About The Position

The Senior Industrial Designer for Callaway Performance and OGIO is accountable for end-to-end, hands-on design ownership of the individual injection molded components within the Callaway Performance Gear and OGIO product lines. This role performs the work of initial ideation and sketches through to the creation of fully resolved, production ready SolidWorks models. The position drives design and production innovation, elevates brand expression, and ensures designs meet market, consumer, and business requirements. As a senior member of cross-functional teams, the designer provides creative leadership, technical expertise, and strategic input throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute the end-to-end, hands-on design process for the injection molded parts within the Callaway Performance Gear and OGIO product lines, from initial ideation and sketching through fully resolved, production-ready CAD in SolidWorks.
  • Regularly engage directly with suppliers to submit designs, refine details, resolve technical challenges, and understand pricing, tooling, and cost drivers to support informed design decisions.
  • Translate concepts into clear, compelling design narratives by presenting design concepts, rationale, and strategies to internal stakeholders, leadership, and external partners.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Development, Marketing, and external suppliers to ensure designs are aligned with product strategy, timelines, and execution requirements.
  • Research, identify, and apply emerging trends in design, color, materials, technology, and competitive products through travel, market research, and consumer insights.
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of product usage, category strategies, product lines, and the markets in which Callaway Performance Gear and OGIO operate.
  • Make informed decisions regarding materials, construction methods, mechanisms, form, color, and packaging to balance performance, aesthetics, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Contribute to cost analysis, value engineering, and margin considerations during the design and development process.
  • Work directly with global manufacturing partners, including regular travel to Asia, to ensure design intent, quality, and timelines are met.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to design schedules and key development milestones.
  • Provide creative leadership and mentorship to junior designers, contributing to the growth and consistency of the design team.
