About The Position

The Robotics Trade Strategy (RTS) team is looking for a talented Import Trade Compliance Program Manager with a strong delivery record and leadership experience to own and execute strategic, cross-functional projects. You will enable new opportunities by executing on a broad range of project management, program management and trade compliance matters. You will work directly to support business leadership, tax, legal, inventory management, procurement teams, logistics, and other internal business partners and external vendors to drive projects that address critical business and regulatory requirements. In this role, you will build trade compliance solutions across cross-functional teams, you will earn trust with stakeholders by learning about and understanding their business lines and products. You will drive alignment by providing near and long term considerations and impacts, and highlight recommended trade-offs and priorities. When confronted with discordant views, you will drive the best way forward and build consensus. You will balance risk and customer experience when making decisions. You will test assumptions by getting feedback from the right input providers across the company and reviewing metrics and benchmarks. You will work with business intelligence engineers and technology teams to design, build and track key performance indicators and systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of supply chain management (e.g. logistics, inventory turn management, forecasting, operations) experience
  • Experience creating reports, interpreting metrics and driving overall insights or analysis
  • Experience in written and verbal communication with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to executives and non-technical leaders
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. and North American customs regulations, including HTS classification, valuation, country of origin, and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Experience identifying and implementing duty optimization strategies, including FTAs, FTZs, bonded facilities, and/or duty drawback programs.

  • Experience with industrial robotics
  • Experience in Trade Compliance and/or Supply Chain industry, i.e. as customs agent/officer, compliance specialist, or customs operations
  • Experience in trade compliance, customs operations, customs brokerage, supply chain, logistics or similar

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Amazon’s regional teams to execute strategy, drive and enforce import processes across North America, and identify opportunities for automation and technology enablement.
  • Engaging with customs brokers and carriers for managing trade compliance related queries and providing efficient and swift resolutions.
  • Monitor, analyze, and propose duty optimization opportunities, including the use of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), Free Trade Zones (FTZs), bonded warehouses, and duty drawback programs.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, communicate with colleagues in both business and technical roles and develop process that drives scale with strong analytical skills in establishing and tracking program metrics
  • Present organized plans to articulate the problem statement, the recommended solution, and milestones.
  • A successful candidate will have operational background in brokerage operations and extensive experience in complex project management
  • Manage robust engagement with internal support-function teams to ensure efficient compliance, audit, communication and operation mechanisms for the program.
  • Analyze trends related to import/export processing requirements to identify process improvements
