About The Position

Our project managers oversee large-scale commercial and industrial HVAC projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role requires deep technical expertise in pharmaceutical and mechanical systems, strong financial and operational management skills, and the ability to lead teams to successful, safe, and profitable project delivery. The HVAC PM acts as the primary client liaison, ensures strict adherence to project specifications, and leads continuous improvement initiatives within the project management team. They also handle any required follow-up tasks, dividing their time between the office and job sites. The ideal candidate should possess 7+ years of experience in the HVAC industry, possibly starting their career in installation. They should prioritize customer service, teamwork, and delivering high-quality work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full lifecycle management for complex Pharmaceutical HVAC projects.
  • Oversee all preconstruction activities, including estimating support, constructability reviews, value engineering, and scope clarifications.
  • Develop strategic project plans, risk assessments, and execution strategies to ensure performance, quality, and timeline objectives are met.
  • Serve as the project's primary point of contact for owners, GCs, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Interpret and apply HVAC engineering designs, load calculations, equipment selections, and mechanical code requirements.
  • Lead the review of shop drawings, BIM coordination models, equipment submittals, and as-built documentation.
  • Troubleshoot HVAC system installation issues, commissioning challenges, and operational performance concerns in partnership with field leadership.
  • Ensure proper integration of ductwork, piping, controls, hydronics, refrigeration, and building automation systems.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain project budgets, forecasting, and cost-to-complete analysis.
  • Review and negotiate contracts, scope gaps, and change order pricing with clients and subcontractors.
  • Approve purchasing, equipment releases, and subcontractor agreements within project budgets.
  • Track labor productivity, material costs, and schedule performance using company KPIs.
  • Create and oversee detailed project schedules, manpower plans, and milestone tracking.
  • Partner closely with Superintendents and Foremen to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with design specifications.
  • Monitor field progress and proactively resolve delays, material shortages, manpower issues, and coordination conflicts.
  • Lead weekly coordination meetings with internal teams, GCs, and trade partners.
  • Ensure all installations meet company quality standards, project drawings, mechanical codes, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Support company safety initiatives and conduct field safety visits and audits.
  • Review commissioning plans, testing and balancing reports, and startup activities.
  • Maintain strong, professional relationships with owners, GCs, engineers, inspectors, and partnering trades.
  • Lead high-level progress meetings and deliver clear, detailed reports on schedule, budget, and risk status.
  • Address client concerns promptly and ensure a positive project experience from start to finish.
