About The Position

This senior position is responsible for all stages of HVAC inspections in resident and commercial buildings.

Requirements

• High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area, e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc., plus 5 years or more related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to prepare and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.
• Valid Driver License

Nice To Haves

• Class A or B Arkansas HVAC License

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and modifies permitting procedure as necessary.
• Conducts on-site HVAC inspections.
• Interprets and explains codes as needed.
• Performs final inspections.
• Notifies contractors, sub-contractors and property owners of code violations.
• Checks to ensure that contractors are state licensed and that proper permits have been issued.
• Reviews plans for construction to ensure proper code compliance is followed.
• Performs on-site inspections of foundation and framing to ensure code compliance is followed.
• Inspects and enforces building/structure and sign setbacks.
• Reviews permitting and inspection procedures with contractors.
• Completes all paperwork associated with the inspection process.
• Answers phone inquiries from builders and contractors.
• Operating a city vehicle is required for the essential functions.
• Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
