About The Position

The Senior HR Manager is responsible for effectively partnering with HR management, nuclear business management, and various organizations to achieve business results. This involves the effective management and implementation of all HR projects, initiatives, and activities within their assigned area of responsibility, ensuring consistency with Vistra HR policies across all Vistra’s Business Units. The role requires establishing and maintaining close relationships with nuclear management to understand business trends, issues, goals, and needs for current and future initiatives. The manager will provide strategic HR insight and guidance on organizational issues and business implications, direct the implementation of new HR programs and policies through communication and training, and offer ongoing consulting and support to business unit managers on HR program execution and employee management. Additionally, the role involves managing HR projects, coordinating with nuclear management to develop and implement programs, and supporting Employee Relations, including the discipline process and regulatory filings.

Requirements

  • 10 or more years of progressive, related professional HR experience.
  • Experience partnering/working with nuclear organizations.
  • Demonstrated success and experience in consulting on and driving Compensation, Performance Management, Staffing and Learning and Development.
  • Demonstrated leadership and customer focus skills.
  • Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills.
  • Demonstrated success in Project Management.
  • Knowledge of employment law and current HR trends.
  • Minimum education is HS Diploma or equivalency.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as SPHR/PHR or SHRM-SCP/CP desired.

Responsibilities

  • Establish partnerships and maintain close relationships with nuclear management to recognize, identify, and understand business trends, issues, goals and needs for present and future business initiatives.
  • Provide strategic human resource insight and guidance on organization issues and business implications pertaining to specific projects and initiatives.
  • Direct implementation of new or revised HR programs and/or policies through effective communications and training of nuclear managers and employees.
  • Provide ongoing consulting and support services to business unit managers in the execution/delivery of HR programs and policies as well as guidance related to the management of their employees.
  • Manage HR projects and initiatives by coordinating and collaborating with nuclear management to develop and implement programs and processes to meet business needs.
  • Provide coordination regarding Employee Relations, including the discipline process, between the fleet nuclear team, HR and the legal department.
  • Support Employee Relations in timely completion of required regulatory filings and specific regulatory inquiries.
