About The Position

The Sr. HR Manager will manage a human resources region for a business unit, overseeing administration of hiring, retention, termination, personnel records, legal compliance, compensation, and long-term staffing strategies. Responsibilities include administration of personnel rules and regulations, pay and job classification structure, and programs. The role involves providing day-to-day oversight of the assigned HR region, leading the HR team in the US and Canada, and partnering with leaders to ensure consistent practices and policy enforcement. The manager will establish practices to increase retention rates and foster employee job satisfaction, oversee maintenance of personnel records, provide training to the HR team, and ensure compliance with legislation affecting human resources. Additionally, the manager will work with middle management to set long-term staffing goals and compile HR metrics for analysis and reporting.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's (preferably a master's) degree in human resources, business administration or a related field.
  • Over seven years of experience in human resources with increasing supervisory responsibilities.
  • Thorough knowledge of laws affecting human resources administration.
  • Previous experience in an organization with 100+ employees.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day oversight of the assigned HR region.
  • Lead the HR team in the assigned HR region (US and Canada).
  • Partner with leaders to ensure consistent practices, management accountability, and policy enforcement.
  • Establish practices that seek to increase retention rates and foster employee job satisfaction, engagement, and high morale.
  • Oversee maintenance of accurate and complete personnel records.
  • Provide training to the HR team in the region and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Keep abreast of legislation affecting human resources and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Partner with Compensation in the preparation of job descriptions and compensation programs.
  • Ensure legal compliance for the opening and closing of sites in the US and Canada.
  • Work with middle management to set long-term staffing goals and strategies.
  • Oversee training programs in context of compliance with government regulation.
  • Make regular reports to VP Human Resources.
  • Compile HR metrics, analyze, report, and identify trends with recommendations.
