About The Position

The Sr. Human Resource Manager is a strategic business partner who helps the region achieve its goals and objectives by being a Team Member advocate, change leader, and Champion for building engaged teams that consist of high quality Team Members. The Sr. HRM partners with their Regional Vice President will assist to lead/impact a successful team of 30-40 District Managers and 300-350 Advance Auto Parts stores. The Sr. HRM should always be aligned with assisting the region in consistently executing Advance's key company strategies.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of state and federal employment laws (EEO, FMLA, Wage & Hour).
  • Recruiting, interviewing, and counseling/coaching skills.
  • Strong training and presentation skills.
  • High level of business/financial acumen.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal, decision making, development/planning, performance gap analysis, and conflict management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and champion change.
  • Ability to travel as necessary.

  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • HR Advocacy Position: Reinforce the culture and support Advance values and Code of Ethics.
  • Recruiting/Staffing: Oversee recruiting, staffing, interviewing, testing, and selection of positions.
  • Selection: Ensure compliance with Advance selection processes for retail positions.
  • Management Development/Training: Assess needs and partner with OD/Training Department for management development.
  • Diversity: Promote inclusion and equitable work environment for all Team Members.
  • Team Member Relations: Oversee relations issues, investigations, and performance management.
  • Performance Management: Advise on goal setting and performance review processes.
  • HR Policy/Strategy: Develop and implement retail HR policies and procedures.
  • Organizational Design/Change Management: Partner to develop organizational structure and lead change initiatives.
  • Compliance: Monitor compliance with company policies and federal/state laws.
  • Communication: Provide timely information to business partners and participate in regional meetings.
  • Compensation: Act as a resource for compensation and benefit issues.
  • Team Member Recognition: Identify ways to recognize Team Members and improve morale.
  • Operations Support: Visit retail locations to stay current on Team Member issues.
