About The Position

The successful candidate will perform activities in the HR department. The successful candidate will have an understanding of business acumen, human resources practices and processes in support of the overall business operations and results.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in HR, Business, Psychology, or related field of study.
  • Advanced education or certification a plus.
  • 5+ years of related HR generalist and/or support experience, or 2+ combined with a master's degree.
  • Demonstrated broad-based knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong planning, time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Solid analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making ability.
  • Strong MS Office and HRIS skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee and leadership inquiries regarding workplace policies and practices.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into employee complaints and recommend resolutions in compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Coach and counsel supervisors and employees on conflict resolution, disciplinary action, and performance improvement.
  • Partner with leadership to foster a positive work environment that aligns with company culture and values.
  • Support and facilitate ongoing communication between business leaders and employees related to all aspects of the employment relationship.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop proactive recruiting strategies.
  • Lead and facilitate the recruiting process across the organization.
  • Conduct comprehensive new hire orientation sessions and ensure a smooth onboarding experience for all new employees.
  • Partner with external resources to support talent acquisition.
  • Assist managers with setting performance goals and expectations aligned with business objectives.
  • Coordinate and track employee performance review process, including mid-year and annual evaluations.
  • Provide guidance to supervisors on performance improvement plans (PIP's) and monitor progress.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are consistently applied and updated to reflect current laws and best practices.
  • Advise management on employment compliance, including FMLA, FLSA, ADA, OSHA, EEO, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain confidential and accurate employee files and HRIS data in accordance with legal standards.
  • Support audits by preparing necessary documentation and ensuring readiness for internal and external reviews.
  • Provide opinions related to the overall talent level of Skyline's employees in light of current and future business needs and suggest training/skill development opportunities.
  • Support career development initiatives by promoting available learning opportunities and programs.
  • Prepare regular reports on HR metrics such as headcount, turnover, time-to-fill, and training hours.
  • Analyze HR data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and present findings to management.
  • Maintain compliance with reporting requirements under state and federal regulations (e.g., EEO-1 reporting).
  • Support the planning and execution of employee engagement activities, such as recognition programs, appreciation events, and surveys.
  • Collect and analyze employee feedback to recommend improvements in engagement and retention strategies.
  • Serve as an advocate for the employee experience, promoting two-way communication between staff and leadership.
  • Recommend and implement continuous process improvements to ensure Skyline's ability to attract and retain the best available talent in the marketplace.
  • Participate on the Engagement Committee.
  • Provide supervision for the Receptionists on a regular, ongoing basis.
  • Ensure necessary coverage is in place, coordinate their support of additional HR projects/assignments.
  • Assess performance, make pay recommendations, etc. for Skyline's Receptionist team.
  • Staff the front desk Mondays and Fridays during lunch break, and as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
