About The Position

PURPOSE OF JOB: The Sr. HR Generalist is responsible for the daily administrative duties of an employee focused, Human Resources team and for providing first-level support to employees and managers on HR-related issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of related HR administrative experience
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and communicate status regularly
  • Understanding of laws related to Human Resources, including California employment law
  • Technical experience including strong knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Zoom, DocuSign, Slack required
  • Ability to assimilate into the organization quickly
  • Must be flexible, positive, and resourceful and comfortable working in a fast-paced organization
  • Serves as the face of HR to RAPT employees and candidates
  • Must be an articulate communicator, including written and verbal skills
  • Demonstrates high level of integrity and absolute confidentiality
  • Builds trust and develops strong relationships with employees; professional demeanor
  • Customer-centered and always thinking of ways to improve the employee experience
  • Demonstrated track record of excellent customer service and collaboration
  • Ability to build strong relationships quickly and yet maintain a professional demeanor
  • Proven experience in dealing with confidential information

Nice To Haves

  • Previous HR systems experience such as BambooHR and Lattice preferred
  • Experience in life sciences a plus
  • Understanding of California employment law and other government compliance regulations (i.e., ADA, Workers Comp, FLSA, FMLA, etc.) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for the day-to-day operations of RAPT's HR team, including administrative support for employee onboarding procedures, terminations, employee changes, maintaining employee files and HR/People systems administration
  • Assist with onboarding process, including creating employee files, communication with managers, coordination of background checks, mandated training and benefits enrollments/inquires
  • Maintain employee records and ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and federal and state regulations
  • Set-up, follow-up, and track completion of human resources compliance training (e.g., Sexual harassment prevention) and other internally required training (e.g. Employee handbook)
  • Maintain org chart monthly
  • Support employee departure process, including communication and processing termination paperwork according to policies
  • Work closely with HR team members to continuously review HR processes and procedures and make recommendations for improvement
  • Coordinate logistics for recruiting events
  • Assist in scheduling interviews
  • Greet and host candidates for onsite interviews
  • Assist in scheduling candidate travel
  • Preparation and tracking of recruiting documents per RAPT processes
  • Greet new hires on their first day with RAPT demonstrating our values in action
  • Assist with the onsite coordination of new hire orientations and employee training
  • Prepare New Hire slides for All Hands meetings
  • Serve as cultural ambassador to employees and candidates
  • May assist in set up and coordination of company events
  • Maintain list and distribute employee swag
  • Key member of employee event committee which includes scheduling of committee meetings and following up on action items
  • Manage employee anniversary recognition process and systems
  • Coordinate distribution of spot bonuses
