About the position

The Senior HR Business Partner will be responsible for providing HR guidance, solutions, and support to the business. This position will act as the relationship liaison between management and employees by developing and implementing the organization’s people strategies and initiatives in conjunction with the overall business strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain an understanding of the organization and business to build effective and productive working relationships with internal stakeholders and employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Coach and guide leaders on best practices related to employee-related matters including performance management, discipline, retention strategies, rewards and recognition, and HR processes and policies, to promote engagement and a culture of continuous growth and development.
  • Continually evaluate and propose changes to processes, standards, and policies to ensure they are effective, efficient, and serve the needs of the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and industry specific regulations, as well as all associated reporting tied to HR Operations; stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and employment law.
  • Partner with various departments on new employee orientation and onboarding to foster a positive employee experience.
  • Analyze workforce trends and metrics (turnover, etc.) to identify areas for improvement and drive solutions that address gaps.
  • Provide guidance and input on workforce planning and restructures to ensure the short and long-term needs of the business are met.
  • Support cross functional projects by providing subject matter expertise including research, planning, and implementation.
  • Maintain employee data within the HRIS as it relates to job changes, coaching and development, etc. to ensure accuracy; enter and/or approve business processes in a timely manner.
  • Proactively manage and resolve complex employee relations issues; support investigations, as needed, by ensuring compliance with company policies and governmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with recruitment to champion a strong focus on acquiring and retaining top talent and building a pipeline for future needs.
  • Utilize understanding of individual and organizational dynamics to facilitate talent movement throughout the organization.
  • Develop thoughtful, integrated approaches to promote diversity and inclusion in talent attraction, development, and retention.
  • Regular, reliable attendance at the work site or assigned work location.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field required.
  • At least 8 years of human resources experience with increased levels of responsibility required.
  • At least 5 years of experience as an HR Business Partner in a dynamic environment required.
  • Experience using HR information systems required; preferably Workday.
  • SHRM and/or HRCI certification(s) preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proven high level HR skills including employee relations, employment law, compensation, benefits, performance management, and training and development.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Extremely flexible, open-minded, and creative when it comes to developing and maintaining HR processes.
  • Must be a strategic thinker, self-motivated, and have excellent problem solving and project management skills to manage multiple projects while overseeing day-to-day duties.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative relationships with key stakeholders within the organization.
  • Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels in the organization.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including writing and presentations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude that fosters effective relationships.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel.
  • Ability to work early mornings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with good driving record.
  • Ability to travel to various worksites.
