About The Position

The SR HIM Clinical Systems Analyst implements, supports, and maintains AHS systems designed to assist HIM and clinical staff in the delivery of quality healthcare. The role involves assisting customers to fully maximize system capabilities to meet institutional goals of quality patient care, cost containment, and operational efficiency. The analyst is responsible for assigned systems and functions, understanding how these systems interrelate with other patient care and financial systems, and works collaboratively with counterparts in Information Systems (IS). Related duties may be performed as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university, or RHIT/RHIA credential preferred.
  • Minimum four years experience in Health Information Management working with clinical electronic health records.
  • Prior experience implementing a clinical, departmental, hospital, financial, or enterprise information system preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop client specifications, testing scripts, training curriculum, and project plans for projects of simple to medium scope & complexity.
  • Manage focus groups and design groups for area of responsibility in designing and building AHS functionality.
  • Develop and manage technical documentation using MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project, or other approved software tools.
  • Provide ongoing support of dictionaries, tables, screens, and parameters to support integrity and functionality of AHS information systems.
  • Identify and manage ongoing support for process improvement and patient safety initiatives.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain system, user, and training documentation.
  • Perform troubleshooting activities pertaining to assigned AHS systems, coordinating with customers, other Information System Teams, and vendor representatives.
  • Manage unit/department-based complex projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance of assigned systems.
  • Recommend and develop solutions to system requirements.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to create a cohesive team approach for development of assigned systems.
  • Work across functional boundaries to ensure consistency with AHS functions while addressing downtime procedures.
  • Complete deliverables on time, with minimal supervision.
