About the position

A Day in the Life involves subsystem architecture, design, qualification of off-the-shelf or custom video capture and image processing hardware. Responsibilities may include conducting research, design, development, and testing of electrical or mechanical hardware such as computer chips, circuit boards, mechanical and electrical components. Ensures reliability, develops technical specifications for production, analyzes hardware configuration and processing solutions, and tests hardware conformance to specifications; may design new or modify existing products.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts research, design, development, and testing of electrical or mechanical hardware such as computer chips, circuit boards, mechanical and electrical components.
  • Ensures reliability, develops technical specifications for production, analyzes hardware configuration and processing solutions, and tests hardware conformance to specifications.
  • May design new or modify existing products.
  • Formulates, delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results.
  • Coaches and reviews the work of lower level specialists; may manage projects/processes.
  • Communicates with senior internal and external customers and vendors.

Requirements

  • Requires a Baccalaureate degree or a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of job area combining breadth and depth, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
  • May have practical knowledge of project management.
